Hi,
I'm testing the CIM sensor alert propagation between vCenter 6.0 and vROps 6.2.a. The test method is just simple unplug one power cable from PSU and then 4 sensor turn red in vCenter, two because of missing power and the other two because of PSU Fan failure. Soon, the event is propagating toward vROps and factory default symptom definitions are reacting immediately but:
- only "Fan sensor health is red" symptom is getting active despite there is "Power sensor health is red" symptom as well
- after the power cable plugged back and everything goes back to normal state in vCenter (the alarm has been acknowledged in vCenter also), in vROps, the "Power sensor health is red" symptom remains active...forever
what I've tried:
- I repeated the fault simulation after 20 hours. -> result: the symptom remains active
- Adapter restart -> result: the symptom remains active
- vROps restart -> result: the symptom remains active
- ESXi host restart -> result: the symptom remains active
- At last, I deleted the object and wait until the host is discovered again and the first collection is done -> result: the symptom goes inactive
Do you have any idea? Have you ever faced this issue?
