VMs not in VCOPs after Vcenter upgrade

My instance of VCenter Operations (Version 5.7.0, Build 1073531) is not seeing new VMs (set up after upgrade of Vcenter to 5.1 from 4.1.

Specifically, after I login to VCOPs, I don't see VMs that were created recently. These VMs were created after the upgrade of the Vcenter associated with this VCOPS instance from 4.1 to 5.1, and even though I see them fine in the Vsphere web client (i.e. I type the hostname into the search box in the upper right corner, choose the result, and can see the information for the VM). I can also ssh to the VM. Yet, searching for the VM in VCenter Operations for this Vcenter yields nothing. What am I missing here?

My end goal here is to be able to monitor performance (CPU, RAM, etc.) on multiple systems at a glance.

I realize it's possible the Vcenter Ops manager may not have been restarted after the Vcenter upgrade.  Other than logging into the Admin portal and restarting it, what other steps can I take to troubleshoot this?
