Working with String metrics

Hi,

I am currently working with vC-Ops (5.7.1).

I have some metrics which provide string data.

Is there a way to assign a numeric values to the string data being provided to the adapter?

What I am trying to accomplish is:

1. Mapping of a badge based upon the values of the string metrics (Being able to go from Red - ... - Green).

2. Display of string metric data on the metric graph widget with proper placement of the string values along the Y-axis.

    As of now, if a string metric is populated on the metric graph, the order of appearance on the y-axis is not in a desired order.

Your suggestions are welcome.
