[issue] Supermetric - count the attribute: diskspace|snapshot|snapshotAge result = 0

Hello everyone

     I have an issue / problem with this supermetric creation.

At first I have created a view filtering the VMs name which snapshot is over 100 days, it works perfectly

snapshot over 100 days - view works.png

But, when I work on supermetric trying to count, on vCenter level, the number of VMs which snapshot is over 100 days,it shows 0 . I have other supermetrics with same structure and they are working.

count(${adaptertype=VMWARE, objecttype=VirtualMachine, attribute=diskspace|snapshot|snapshotAge, depth=5, where = "diskspace|snapshot|snapshotAge>=100"})

supermetric doesnt works.png

Someone knows where is the issue or mistake? It should shows at least 3 vms as you can see on the first image.

Environment Overview widget selection of object gone after the refresh interval in Vrops Dashboard.

We are using VROPS 7.0, In the custom dashboard we are using Environment Overview widget . If we selected the particular object in the widget, the selection will be lost after the refresh interval.

Is this a widget issue or something need to be done at our end to maintain selection after the refresh interval?

vROps is creating repeated alerts for old event/log

Is anyone has an idea why vROps keeps on creating alerts then cancelling the alerts repeatedly even for old events or logs? What is the solution?

We are using vRealize Operations Manager 7.0

Missing Out-of-the-box dashboard of Federation Management Pack 1.1.0-11289728

Hi everyone,

 

we recently installed the Federation Management Pack 1.1.0-11289728 on vRealize Operations Manager 7.0.

 

However, the out-of-the-box dashboard is missing. Is there any one knows if default dashboard is still included on the recent version of the management pack? Or where can i get the copy of the dashboard?

VROP Licensing - Mix VMware License in Cluster (Need Advice)

Hi All,

 

I want to ask here about my client environment, related to their vrop licensing.

 

My client has one cluster, containing 11 hosts.

 

ESXi 1 - 6 has vmware vcloud suite enterprise for vsphere license, which including vrealize operation manager as I knnow (please correct me if I'm wrong)

Whiel ESXi 7 - 11 has VMware vSphere Enterprise Plus license, which exclude vrealize operation manager.

 

How if I want to install (implement) vRealize Operation Manager for such this environment? what is the best way? I need your feedback, guys.

vRops Tenant App and vCD 9.7

Hello,

i'm trying to setup vRealize Operations Manager Tenant App for vCloud Director 2.2 with vCD 9.7 in our lab but i'm encountering some tenant authentication problems.

I tried to create a local user for a tenant in Tenant App management interface and then login to vCD tenant portal and go to "Operations Manager" tab i'm requested to insert the credentials but once done a progress bar starts scrolling infinitely.

Another "strange" thing is that I'm unable to select anything in the highlighted box. Shouldn't be "local users" as I can see directly on the App?

My setup is composed of:

- vCloud Director version: 9.7.0.12989839

- vRops Version: 7.5.0.13165949

- vRealize Operations - Tenant App for vCloud Director Version 2.2.0 Build 13473473

 

 

Any ideas on how to check/solve the problem?

How to change Property Name label in Properties List Widget of VRops dashboard ?

How can we change the Property Name label in Properties List widget with Vrops 7.0 dashboard.

We have group the properties in the Details resource group , so in the  dashboard property name will display as a group_name | property_name.

We need only Property name to show on dashboard.

 

Eg,.

 

Property Structure form All metric :

Dashboard property widget image ,here want to dispay property name only .

E.g. Instead of Details|All Users Allowed , need to display All Users Allowed

 

( We have tried Resource Interaction XML file but no luck )

 

 

Is this possible? If possible how can we resolve this?

How can we change ordering of the grid columns of above Property List widget?

(Can It possible  the Object Name will be placed as  column in the widget )

vrops report on cluster CPU Capacity remaining and usage does not match

I created a view

 

presentation: LIST

Subject: Cluster computer resource

Data: CPU | Capacity REmaining (%)

CPU | Capacity Usage (%)

Memory | Capacity REmaining (%)

Memory | Usage (%)

 

When i run the report,  I see this

How come the usage and remaining does not add up to 100?

Hi There are a few questions regarding management of vRealize:

 

For a start, this is an ongoing POC and we are using the per object evaluation license:

 

1. What does the Locked and shared status on the dashboard means?

2. Why in the Capacity overview, when they try to click (example) the 10 powered off VMs image, it doesn't open a tab directly to that 10 VMs?

3. Does this affects if we are using an object license instead of the per CPU licenses?

4. In the initial window, there is a portion that indicates savings in monetary format, can we edit this?

Split Cluster permissions

I've a single vCenter that supports two different Clusters that have separate Admins for each. What's the best way to ensure one group can't see the other's resources in vROPS? Do I create two vROPS instances and use vCenter permissions to only grant access to the minimum set of resources for each vROPS adapter, or can I do this within vROPS safely enough?

alerts to a shim server

I am not sure if this is the correct place but couldn't find a better place

 

We send our alerts using REST top a shim server that transform the payload into a format out upstream service can read. this is an example

Our ESXi hosts are connected using the FQDN and the replace in the above removed the domain name because our upstream service used the short name. It also changes vrops field names to what we need.

 

We recently started to deploy vsan the resource name (triggered on) is now vSAN Cluster(cluster name)

What i need to do is remove all text and leave cluster name. Any help would be great. If it needs to be a new endpoint that is fine

Upgrade vROPs from 7 to 7.5 stuck on run sql db upgrade

Hi,

 

Upgrading from 7 to 7.5 and the OS has been successfully upgraded but doing the VA now and its stuck on run sql db upgrade for nearly 2 hours. Has anyone else seen this? Can I check if its stuck or something?

Hi,

 

In the what if analysis I have a couple of questions

 

1.  The instance Cost value. I assume that is cost per month?

2. What currency is the instance cost value in? In the global settings it is set to $ and I assume its AUS $ as well but im unable to change this to anything else

3. Where do you download up to date rate cards for each cloud provider?

Getting Error No Such Metric in Vrops 7.0

If we clicked on All Metric section it will pop up  message as "No Such metric "

 

Below is the screenshot :

Can you please help us to solve this issue.

Alert corelation in smarts

Hi All,

 

I just wanted to know if the alert correlation can be done in smarts.. like for example one of the switch is down can we get all the impacted devices also listed in one incident. we see there is one impacted tab in the smarts GUI console but were does it show up in the smarts CLI & also do we have any internal CMDB for smarts from were we can fetch this data?
